Anvil Bay is situated on an untouched stretch of coastal wilderness in the Kingdom's most southern national park. The camp was created with the intention of creating the least possible footprint as they wanted to disrupt the wilderness and wildlife as little as possible.
Machangulo is the perfect setting to relax and enjoy some adventures at sea if you prefer. The lodge offers spectacular rooms with amazing views.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Maputo Special Reserve
This morning will be an early one as you'll be picked up from your specified location in Maputo around 5:30 am.
We will then cross the Catembe Ferry on our drive to the Maputo Special Reserve. On the way, we will stop at a local bread factory just before we enter the Reserve en route to Anvil Bay.
We will enjoy lunch on the way or at the lodge, depending on the timing. As we drive through the reserve, there are plenty of opportunities to observe some wildlife - talk about taking the scenic route!
Once we reach the lodge, we will relax and settle in.
Day 2: Free Day at Your Leisure.
Day 3: Journey to Machangulo
Once we have enjoyed breakfast, we will check out of the lodge and begin our journey to Machangulo. Upon arrival at Machangulo, we will relax and settle in.
Day 4: Free Day at Your Leisure.
Day 5: Maputo - Departure
Today, you'll enjoy some free time in the morning before we begin our transfer back to Maputo. Once we arrive at the pier, our guide will drop you off at any point in the city.

Maputo Special Reserve is a nature reserve in Mozambique. The reserve is located on Maputo Bay, approximately 100 kilometers southeast of the city of Maputo, Mozambique. The Reserve is 1,040 km² in extent and was originally proclaimed in 1932 to protect a small population of coastal elephants resident in the area.
Maputo Special Reserve is an essential component of the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation and Resource Area as it enables linkages between a mosaic of marine, coastal and inland components with important conservation value and excellent potential for high-value tourism. The reserve combines lakes, wetlands, swamp forests, grasslands, and mangrove forests with a pristine coastline that lies within the Maputaland Centre of Endemism.
