Mozambique Diving Bazaruto Day Tour

Spend days on full-day diving and snorkeling excursions to Bazaruto Island. You will be collected from your Vilanculos accommodation at 8 am and travel 45 minutes to Benguerra Island.

The boat will stop off inside the reef and prepare for the dive. The dive instructor will brief you about the first spot you will dive at, Two Mile Reef, comprising a long stretch of pristine coral reefs. Maximum bottom time 60 minutes, air permitting.

One of the most compelling reasons to dive in Bazaruto is the opportunity to witness the rare and gentle dugong. This vulnerable marine mammal has one of its last viable populations in these protected waters, and sightings are a truly special experience.

Diving conditions are typically excellent, with warm water temperatures and exceptional visibility often exceeding 30 meters. This clarity allows for stunning views of the intricate reef structures and the large pelagic species that patrol the deeper waters, such as manta rays, whale sharks, and various types of game fish [2].

Notable dive sites abound. "Two Mile Reef" is perhaps the most famous, a massive expanse of coral gardens known for its shallow reefs teeming with life, suitable for all experience levels. For advanced divers, "Canyon" offers dramatic underwater topography and the chance for exhilarating drift dives among larger ocean predators.

Beyond the fish, the sheer scale and beauty of the environment are captivating. The interaction of the clear turquoise sea, the towering sand dunes of the islands, and the vibrant reefs creates a unique atmosphere of untouched wilderness.

After the dive, you will enjoy a fantastic lunch break on Bazaruto and take an hour to rest, climb the dune, and enjoy the stunning view from the top.

After the surface interval, you will go back to Two Mile Reef for the second dive, but to a different site. You will return to Casa Babi in Vilanculos at 4:30 pm.
