Located 33 km east of Maputo, Inhaca Island is a subtropical island measuring approximately 12 km by 7 km. It is believed that Vasco da Gama sighted the island in 1497/98. In the 1500s, the island served as a trading post, primarily for ivory, and later became known as a refuge for shipwrecked mariners travelling north along the coast.
Portuguese Island, located approximately 3 km from Inhaca Island, is a deserted island accessible by a 10–15 minute boat ride. Picnic lunches can be arranged through local restaurants. The island features pristine beaches and calm lagoons suitable for various water sports.

After an early breakfast, visit Maputo Special Reserve. Wildlife populations suffered significantly during the civil war (1975–1992) due to landmines and snares. Since then, extensive conservation efforts and cross-border wildlife translocation programs between South Africa and Mozambique have restored biodiversity.
Today, the reserve is home to over 400 elephants and more than 25,000 animals introduced through translocation programs. Enjoy a 4x4 game drive, a packed lunch en route or a late lunch at a local restaurant, followed by an African sundowner before returning to Maputo.

Day 5: All Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Depart after breakfast for Ponta do Ouro, a tranquil coastal community approximately 10 km from the South African border and 120 km from Maputo.
Guests will have free time to enjoy the beach, swim, and relax. The area is famous for crystal-clear waters, scenic beaches, and world-class diving sites. Visitors can snorkel, surf, deep-sea fish, or simply unwind.
Ponta do Ouro also boasts a rich cultural heritage shaped by Portuguese and indigenous influences. Residents often share their culture through traditional dance and cuisine.
